Abstract:

Soldering Instructions

1. Soldering Requirements

• The solder joint shall be more than 2mm away from epoxy roots.
• Dip soldering: Dip soldering should be completed at 260℃ within 5 seconds for one time. Meanwhile, resin should be prevented from dipping into tin tanks.
• Iron soldering: Iron soldering should be completed with a 30 W soldering iron at not higher than 350℃ on the tip within 5 seconds for one time.

2. Attentions

• The pin, if needed, should be formed before soldering. The distance between the holes of PCBs should be consistent with that of electrode pins.
• If the pin is cut at high temperature, defects may come into being. Please cut the pin at normal temperature.
• Before the soldering temperature turns back to normal, LEDs must be prevented from suffering any shock or external force.

3.Electrostatic Protection

• As blue, pure green or white objects are very sensitive to static electricity, any inadequate protection may cause surge of electric current and thus cause failure to electronic devices, such as leakage of electricity or inadequate lightness. Therefore, any equipment in contact with electronic devices must be well grounded, with the working table to be grounded with a conductive mat. The iron should also be grounded at the tip. Besides, anion generators are recommended to use.

4.Cleaning

• In cleaning complete products including LEDs with chemicals, attentions must be paid to any discoloration on surface caused by corrosion of chemicals like TCE and acetone. It is advised to use ethanol for wiping or dipping for a period less than 3 minutes.

5.Storage

• Products are to be stored at the temperature of 5 to 30℃, and the relative humidity of 60%.
• Moreover, they should be used within one year from the date of packaging.
• Products that fail to meet the above storage requirements or are moisturized must be baked at the temperature of 60 ± 5℃ for 12 hours.
• The longer the storage time, the easier the products are subject to corrosion, oxidation or discoloration on the surface of the electrode, thus bringing difficulties to soldering. Therefore, it is suggested to use them as soon as possible.
